Fillings are tooth coloured, of course, and can be done with direct placement of composite materials or can be lab fabricated; which requires a subsequent appointment in most cases. Fillings are 'glued' or 'bonded to teeth and have a varying time span of function, before replacement may be necessary.
Crowns must be done when remaining tooth structure has been lessened over the years by refilling teeth due to recurrent decay, or cuspal fracture.Different materials can used: ceramics; ceramic bonded to gold alloy; composite hybrids; zirconium, and on occasion full gold. The choice depends factors such as functional, and or esthetic requirements. Fixed Bridges are done to replace a missing tooth or teeth by joining to those teeth that are on either side of the space.
Dr. Fox has been placing implants since they first arrived in North America in 1987. There are different manufacturers, different lengths, widths and shapes depending on the configuration of the site, all implants are essentially the same in content and design; that is, they are of elemental Titanium and are threaded in order to have mechanical retention when placed into the bone. After a healing period of usually 3 to 4 months, crowns or bridges are placed and secured to the implant with abutments and retention screws.
Crowns and/or veneers are performed here when the need is there; to fill in gaps, reinforce heavily filled teeth that can no longer be replaced conservatively.
There is on site ortho treatment (braces) and/or Invisalign when one is a candidate for this.
Or root canal therapy, is often done here, but in certain instances referral may be necessary.
Dr. Fox can manage most surgical procedures, as mentioned above, implants, wisdom teeth removal depending on the level of difficulty, and the status of the patient, or if sedation at deeper levels are required, and most extractions and periodontal approaches to a patient's need.
